Finally Imf had ended.although i muz admit how this job is really very energy consuming... however it's really a great experience...well at least i got to interact with the delegates directly..

i had quite a lot of exercise too climbing up and down.. walking to and fro with big trays with heavy plates on... i never knew i could actually balance a tray with 3 display plates on with one arm.. with the other arm carrying a tray jet/one airport.. and then managed to walk quite a distance.... haha.. it's one of the achievements i guess at the end of this event.... furthermore adding on to waking up at 4.30am everyday.. coz my shift starts at 6.... really a physical torture...

I also learnt that u only get to see people's true character when working... the bossy people will start to show their true colours by bossing pple around... the "smarter" people will volunteer to do the less tiring job.. leaving others to do the job that requires more physical strength.
Jobs like getting guest to sign bill .. setting up stuffs... is simply then carrying the heavy stuffs....
it all depends on how fast the person react to get the less tiring job...

要看开一点...

I guess it's only through working when u realise ur friends are not as good as u depict them to be... i mean some of them not all of course... its only when working when u start to have conflicts with ur friends... and when the initial beautiful image of ur friends gradually diminish during the course of working together.... :-(therefore i think it's best to avoid working with ur friends in future.. to avoid any conflicts that may affect the friendship... everyone has their own set of methods to handle something... there may be clashes between 2 individuals..

The busiest day was Sunday.. I did a 15.5 hrs shift.. never worked tt long before.. atmost 12 hrs max in the past.. 15 over hours.. carrying huge trays.. pushing huge trolleys... up and down... and besides my feet hurt coz of the shoes... i juz felt like dying with every step i took that day wearing that pair of damn shoes... the first time i felt walking is such a torture... and guess what after the 15.5 hrs shift i got to work at 6 again on Monday... sleeping only 4 hrs..

However... the good thing is i got tips from one of the Indian delegates.. he is one kind man .. haha .. he gave those people who served him during the IMF... 25 bucks each.. generous man...
:-p....and plus some tips of 95 cents.... i got a total of 25.95 bucks... haha... he said we provided excellent service, he enjoyed our service a lot :-p finally a tinge of satisfaction...
well.. he did made us run up and down to serve him haha... but it's all worth it now hehe...
I had worked in restaurants before.. but never received such a large amt of tip before..
Maybe .. working at room service... banquet isnt that bad after all.....if ur guest makes ur life easier of course..

**The recognition of a server's effort by a guest is the greatest gift a guest can give a service provider... **

Having expericenced life of a server for room service... these days... i totally understand that it's definitely a challenging and not an easy job... as u face different guests everyday... which brings about different situations... Learning to handle it well.. depends on experience... the strength required to carry the trays is already a great challenge .....

Made new friends too... i got to know pple from my own course whom i used to see in school everyday in the past but did not know them... a bunch of jokers i would say.. it's great to have pple like that when ya working and feeling stressed up... these pple say things that make u feel better ... by making u laugh haha... got to know more gian beng pple haha...

Tomorrow will be getting my IMF certificate.. finally... :-p...they are holding a thank you party... at suntec... in the afternoon.. got class later on so not going to stay till too late...
